NAPT

The New South Wales Association of Psychiatry Trainees (NAPT) is a not-for-profit organisation which aims to represent, support and advocate for psychiatry trainees in NSW.

Our committee comprises elected NSW psychiatry trainees and includes representatives from each training network and subspecialty advanced training program. We also have liaison members from the Branch Training Committee (BTC), Psychiatry State Training Council (PSTC) and Trainee Representative Committee (TRC).

In 2015 we hosted several events including the Inaugural Welcome Drinks, Academic Symposium, and Advanced Training and Subspecialty Information Night. We hope to bring psychiatry trainees together at a range of social, educational and information events each year.

Professor The Honourable Dame Marie Bashir AD, CVO has honoured NAPT by agreeing to act as our patron.

NAPT is open to all accredited psychiatry trainees in NSW, and other applicants upon consideration by the committee. Membership is free and new members are always welcome. Please sign up on our membership page and join our Facebook group.

NAPT Psychiatry Trainee Survey Results

Thank you all trainees who have filled out the annual survey. This year we will be releasing the results progressively, highlighting areas in which districts have excelled in, and which areas still require improvement.

The first results for the NAPT Psychiatry Trainee results are out! Overall, NSCC LHD performed well, but areas of improvement included trainee access to psychotherapy. Keep an eye out for tomorrow, for another set of district results!

This is the second release of the NAPT Psychiatry Trainee results! HNE LHD performed well in providing mandatory terms to its psychiatry registrars, but half the respondents noted that it was difficult to access weekly, 1:1 supervision. Keep an eye out for tomorrow, for another set of district results!

Day 3 results for the NAPT Psychiatry Trainee Survey Results are out! The SESI district had one of the strongest showings, with 91% of respondents saying they would recommend the district to work in. Thank you for all your support so far, and make sure to keep sending them to fellow trainees to spread the news!
